What is a FOIA Request?

Under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140), any person has the right to request access to public records maintained by the Williamsville Police Department. FOIA requests must reasonably describe the records sought. The Department is required to respond within five business days, with extensions available for certain circumstances.
